Sock Questions

  1. Can I make a custom sock?

    We are capable of making custom socks for people however our minimums are currently pretty high. 1200 pairs to be exact. If this number didn't scare you off please contact us for more information.

  2. How can I design a sock for you?

    We run an annual contest (usually in the fall) where anyone can submit a sock design. While the contest is running, you can get our most current sock design template and send us your creations.

    If you are a professional designer and would like to submit a design, please send us information about your work and a link to your portfolio here.

  3. Where are you located?

    We are located in Portland, Oregon, USA.

  4. What size are your socks?

    Our women's socks fit a shoe size 5-10 and our men's socks fit up to a size 13. Our socks are really stretchy so they fit a wide range of feet sizes.
    Kids socks: Toddler fits ages 1-2, sizes 4-7, Youth fits ages 3-6, sizes 8-13, Junior fits ages 7-10, sizes 1-5.

  5. Where are your socks made?

    Our socks are made in Korea. We visit our factories pretty often, so if you want to know more, you can read about our travels here and here.

  6. I'm a plus size gal, can you recommend which socks would fit me best?

    We have a new sock made for you! Our STRETCH-IT™ line is made for more stretch. We cracked the code and created new technology to make patterned socks with more stretch because more stretch is more awesome! The STRETCH-IT™ socks can stretch up to 21 inches in circumference.   7. Do you have any plans on making men's knee highs? Or tights... or over the knee.... or socks for cats?

    We are always thinking about new types of socks we can make. Chances are, we will not be making socks for cats but crazier things have happened. We now carry kids' sizes, and our Extra Stretchy striped socks and STRETCH-IT™ knee high socks fit most men. We have Over the Knee styles available, but no tights. We're always looking into new styles and fits, so if you have something in mind, let us know!

  8. I like some of your men's styles. Can I wear them? Or will they be too big for me.

    You can totally wear them! The sock police will not arrest you. The men's socks fit women's size 8 and up comfortably but if you don't mind the heel being a little big there's no reason why you can't wear them with smaller feet.

  9. How can I find a store selling SITM socks near me?

    Sock it to Me is now in stores all over the world. To list every store would just be crazy! You're welcome to shoot us off an email if you want to support your local economy and find a store in your area. In Portland we are in stores such as: Sock Dreams, Buy Olympia, University of Portland, Powell's, and New Seasons.

  10. I'm interested in ordering wholesale. What is the process for that?

    The women’s bikini and hipster underwear are a mid-rise fit, with the hipster offering more coverage. The ¾” stretchy, lace waistband lays flat against the skin and lace trim minimizes tightness.

    How to measure:
    Waist: measure at the smallest point; this is usually higher up than where your pant waistline is.
    Hip: measure across the fullest portion, over the fullest part of your rear.

    For the most accurate fit, please use your measurements, not your pant size. The pant size is there as a general guide, but women's pant sizes can vary greatly between brands and manufacturers.

    The men’s boxer brief is a mid rise. It has approximately a 4” inseam when measured flat on a table. When worn the hem ends at the upper to mid-thigh.

    How to measure:
    Waist: measure your waist where you prefer your pant waistband to fit comfortably. This is typically under the navel but above the hipbones.

  • Where are they manufactured?

    Our underwear is manufactured in China. We have a whole blog post about our travels to the manufacturing facilities and processes!

  • What are they made of?

    Our underwear is made of super soft combed cotton and love. The specifics can be found on the individual item page for the style you are looking for.

Ordering & Payment

  1. What type of payment methods do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal. However, we only accept PayPal as payment for international orders. We apologize for this inconvenience but we are unable to accept credit cards directly for international orders.

  2. Why have I been charged more than once?

    They are more than likely pending charges from multiple unsuccessful attempts to place an order.

    To protect you from fraud and identity theft, we have strong security measures in place to check your entered billing information against what your credit card company has on file. Common mis-matches include billing address details, misspelled names, wrong CVC.

    If you enter billing information that does not match what your card company has on file, we may not place your order, but your bank may still authorize the transaction. Since there is no order placed, these transactions are "pending", meaning we have not actually taken funds from your account. Rather, the bank has authorized them to be used for the purchase, and they are still in your account. Typically these "pending" transactions drop off on their own in a couple business days, but that depends on your bank. You can call them directly to remove the pending authorizations and make those funds available again.

    If you correced your mis-matched information and submitted an order successfully, we will only charge you once, for that specific successful authorization. Any prior authorization attempts will either expire on their own, or can be removed by calling your bank.

    If you're still having issues, let us know and we'll help you out as best we can.

Shipping & Returns

  1. How do you ship?

    We ship using the United States Postal system. It's the cheapest way to go for small orders. We also offer UPS shipping as an option. All of our wholesale orders are shipped using UPS Ground.

  2. Do you ship internationally?

    Yes we do! We ship anywhere the post will deliver. However, we only accept PayPal as payment for international orders. We apologize for this inconvenience but we are unable to accept credit cards directly for international orders.

    Please note: UPS Priority Mail Innovations shipping may require longer than average processing time and can take up to four weeks for delivery. If you require a faster delivery, please choose the USPS Priority International shipping option.

    Customers are responsible for payment of all duties, taxes and brokerage fees necessary for customs clearance. These fees will be charged by the customer's postal service and will be due prior to final delivery of their package(s).

  3. When can I expect my order to ship?

    Sock it to Me ships Monday - Friday. Please allow 1-4 business days for your order to be packed and ready to send out. We do our best to send your order out as soon as possible! If you're shipping internationally, it can take between 1-8 business days for us to process your order.

  4. How long will it take for my order to arrive?

    Orders typically take 2-7 days from the ship date for them to arrive. Priority Mail is faster and takes a few days at the most to arrive. It depends on where you are located in relation to us. International orders can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to arrive. The average is 4 weeks. If you have any questions about when your order will arrive don't hesitate to email us.

  5. How can I check the status of my order?

    Log in to your account to check the status of your order. You can also call us at (503) 419-6428, or email us using the Contact Form if you'd like to send us a message about your order.

  6. How do I cancel my order?

    Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to cancel your order. If your order has already shipped (most orders ship within 48 hours) we will not be able to cancel your order, so please contact us for other options.

  7. What is your return policy?

    You can't truly unleash your inner super hero until you're completely satisfied. We will gladly exchange or refund your order if you have received damaged or defective socks. Read the full details of our return policy right here.
    Please message us before you mail us a return so we can get it authorized first, and we know it's coming.

League of Heroes and Super Powers

  1. What is the League of Heroes?

    The League of Heroes is our loyalty program / secret club of awesomeness. League of Heroes members can earn super powers for every sock and underwear item they purchase, get exclusive deals, sneak peeks on new products and other Sock It to Me fun stuff, and sometimes fun treats and special stuff just because!

  2. How do I join the Leage of Heroes?

    To join, you just have to fill out the form on the League of Heroes page: scroll to the bottom, fill out the info, and click "join us".

  3. What are Super Powers and how do they work?

    For every sock or underwear product you purchase, you'll earn 1 super power. You can redeem super powers on future orders: the more super powers you earn, the more you can save! A single super power is one dollar off an order. So, if you have 5 super powers accumulated, you can save $5 on your next order!

    We've tried to keep the program simple and easy. Your super powers do not expire. You have to be logged in to your account in order to review and redeem your super powers. You can't earn super powers for orders you placed before you joined the league of heroes or on orders they’ve been applied to.

  4. When do Super Powers show up on my account?

    Once your order has shipped, you should see new super powers appear in your account on your super powers log. You can access your super powers log by logging into your web account, and clicking "My Account" > "Super Powers".

  5. How do I redeem Super Powers?

    To redeem your super powers, log into your account. Have at least 1 item in your cart. View your cart: don't proceed directly to checkout. On the cart review page, there is a field to redeem super powers. Enter in the number of super powers you want to redeem, and click "APPLY". You should see the discount then reflected in your order total. You can redeem as little or as many of your total super powers on orders: you don't have to spend them all at once! Super Powers cannot be earned on orders they’ve been applied to.

Gift Certificates

  1. How do gift certificates work?

    Gift certificates are an excellent way to give someone the freedom to choose exactly what they want from our large selection. Simply fill out the form, click "add to cart", and finally checkout to complete purchase. Start your gift certficate here.

  2. When can I expect the recipient to receive the gift code?

    Depends on the delivery option. For email delivery, immediately. For snail mail, our warehouse team will get your gift certificate printed and shipped up to 72 hours after purchase on business days.

Holiday Questions

  1. Where are your holiday designs?

  2. Do you have any holiday promotions?

    You bet! We are running a series of promotions that will change from time to time. You can check all of our current promotions on our current promotions page. Most banners you'll see on our website advertising these promotions will also link to this page so that you can click and get the full details on a given promotion. The best way? Sign up for our emails or even better: join the League of Heroes to get special secret deals. Please note that unless otherwise marked, all website promotions should be assumed for retail only.

  3. When do I have to order to have my socks in time for the holidays?

    The answer is different for everybody. It depends on where you live, and the shipping method you plan on using. We've provided a guideline right here on our awesome Holiday Shipping Dates page. Please note that during these busy holiday months, it can take up to 72 hours to process your order before we ship it out.

    For all international customers, if you want your order to arrive on time please select the faster shipping option.   4. Do you offer gift receipts / gift wrapping options?

    We do! Those options should be available to you in checkout. We offer a draw-string, re-usable gift bag priced at $2 each, or you can earn a free gift stocking during certain time periods with a purchase. Gift receipts are offered all year long and can be extra nice when gifting for the holidays: you can opt-in and write a special message as part of the payment step in checkout. Cool!


    We process your orders as quickly as we can and hand them over to UPS, FedEx, or USPS for shipping and delivery. If your order has already left the warehouse, you can use your tracking number to see where your shipment is. If your order has not left the warehouse, you can call us at (503) 419-6428 with your order number for an update.

    You should have been emailed a tracking number when your order left our warehouse. If you did not receive this tracking email, check your spam / junk folders to see if it ended up in there. If you still can't find it, please contact us with your order number, and we'll let you know when you can expect your socks.
